About this Class: Subjects include History, Social Studies, Arts, Literature: Hands on projects & learning
Farm Frontier a semester class: Includes a unit study of the frontier era with a focus of frontier farm skills, information & life. We will do a variety of projects including it's purpose or history. Some activities & projects will be done in succession, some in many classes & others once in the semester. There will be many take home projects. We will enjoy farm animals, archery, cooking, writing with quill pens we make from the farm, candle making, handcrafts, tracking, leatherwork, wholesome frontier foods and harvest from the garden in the fall, writing on slates, wool studies and working with wool from the farm here.
We hope to make some seasonal foods & fresh apple cider from a press!
We will also play frontier era games, stories and songs. We will keep a "journal" of things we learn in lessons to take home at the end of the semester.
We will do class inside the tipi as needed.
If a child has frontier era clothes they are welcome to wear them.
