About this Class

Science & Ancient History Ages 8-12 We are working on an awesome curriculum and projects!! This is a hands on class!  Physics might sound intimidating or for the older ages, but there is so much to learn & do at these ages too!  Physics for kids is an engaging way to introduce them to the world of science, exploring concepts like motion, energy, and the universe through hands-on activities and experiments. It helps them understand how things work, from simple machines to complex phenomena like light and gravity. What is Physics? Physics is the study of matter and its interactions with energy and forces. It explores how things move, why objects fall, and how light and sound behave.  Gravity: Understand why things fall to the ground and how it affects motion.  Light and Shadows: Investigate how light travels, creates shadows, and how shadows change throughout the day.  Energy: Learn about different forms of energy like heat, light, and electricity.  Magnetism: Explore how magnets attract and repel objects.  Simple Machines: Discover how simple machines like levers, pulleys, and wheels make work easier.  Buoyancy: Understand why some objects float and others sink.  Motion and Forces: Explore how objects move, how forces act on them, and Newton's laws of motion.  Visuals - Hands On Experiments - Engaging Activities  Using Diagrams, charts too Use diagrams, charts, and videos to illustrate physics concepts.  Example Experiments: Rolling Objects: Roll or push different objects and observe how easily they move.  Buoyancy Experiment: Drop different objects into water and observe which float and which sink.  Gravity Experiment: Drop various objects from a height and observe how they fall.  Shadow Experiment: Study how shadows change throughout the day.  Magnet Experiment: Use a magnet to attract and repel different objects.
